New Forest South District Awards 09

It is great to be part of an active and achieving district, and after an expiring talk from a delightful explorer scout called Flic... we presented the Chief Scout Awards for 2009, joined by the county commissioner, Adam, the town major of Lymington and New Milton and Desmond our local MP - the scouts of today were praised and congratulated on their achievements.

Well done everyone!

Beavers Send Smiles to India

Lymington Beavers spent Monday evening creating surgical gowns to enable children in India to have the opportunity to have a life changing operation and smile for the very first time.

The Beaver Scouts (age 6 – 8years) set about decorating  t- shirts donated t-shirts from Ricara, as well as some of their own, and with the help of supplies donated by Lymington Haberdashery spent the evening transforming them into bright, colourful and smiley operation gowns.

The beavers complete over 45 gowns, which will enable 45 children to have life changing clef lip operations, which means there will be more money for more operations, and more children will smile.
